Hey guys! Uh. Lets start with “uh”. Remember last report and me mentioning researching and buying a motherboard? Well, it arrived! Aaaaaand then it went downhill afterwards. As those on Discord know, I’ve been facing many problems since I swapped the motherboards out. Of no booting issues (where I had to change to Legacy mode after some good suggestions) to overall cpu overheating and being way louder than before. Turns out (although I can’t yet say 100%) that this motherboard (which is relatively expensive and def made those with better cpus than me) pushes my 5600x into boost modes and pushes its performance no matter the task. As I am not an IT guy really, I lost few days to figure out it was a BIOS setting… It wouldn’t be an issue if I had a good cooler, however I use the AMD stock one. I’ll just say from my usual 50-65 C temps I went to 80-90 C which caused huge difference in noise… Big shoutout to all those that helped me, as there were some good tips and ideas thrown around for all my problems. And if that wasn’t enough, after finally being done with that and reinstalling Windows… More problems. Besides some Apps being gone as they were from the Store, and I had trouble finding them (as some were literally called “image converter”… Good luck finding the same one). The bigger issue my program for renders stopped working. It somehow got corrupted. All mods weren’t working, and it even changed languages. So… Yeah. Had to reinstall it all.

Thank God I bought that laptop few weeks ago, as I transferred the program there too, in case shit like this happened. That sped up the process of getting back to working condition, although that still took a bit as the install is now 300 gb in size and I wanted to upgrade to newer version while at it. Scratch that, while writing this I realized the security permissions were fucked and with my limited knowledge I managed to fix it. So yay, kinda useless pain but at least I got a new fresh hs2 install with more mods, right? Insert pain emoji. 🤢

Actual game progress:

Wiiiiiith that out of the way, what about Episode 3 progress? Even though I lost roughly ~5 days where I didn’t even touch it, we got some progress done, as I moved from rendering to other tasks. And thankfully I did, as I made backups and transferred stuff to my laptop before the pc issues.

The things I did was in the scripting and music department. I split the script in half (as I have half the renders more or less done for ep3) and playtested the game from there. Ep2 ending has been readjusted, the transition to ep3 has been done (lol I was scared about this as I though I fked it up with my 10 messages of save here and here or here!, but in the end it didn’t matter). All the transitions between images are done and the choices all now work. Hooray! The first half is now kinda done and playable, only thing missing is music and sound. And that is the next point.

Researched some and already got some songs and sounds downloaded, however didn’t put them ingame yet as I am trying to see how I want those songs do be played out. Considering how long the hotel part of the episode is, I doubt people want blasting dancy songs for a full hour or two hah.

So yeah, that’s why those 2 bars have moved. I also did 30 renders, but that’s not even 5% so won’t count it in.
