If you played episode 4, and the amount there was "embarrassing", then I'm afraid it will continue to be so and this and many other similar games might not suit you.

Hey Dev! I just finished my first playthrough of Fates Collide and have been enjoying it a lot. I love the balance between the main plot surrounding MC's average college life and the subplot surrounding what's going on in Ardoria. I won't mention specifics here because spoilers, but I've been enjoying the mystery and intrigue. I have theories about what's happening and who's involved. It's so juicy and I can't wait to find out more, especially from Avis' perspective!
I don't normally leave comments but I felt it was important to give you feedback about some of the language you use in the game. There were a few derogatory terms in episode one, namely "f*gsquad" and "r*tard," that took me by surprise. I decided to brush it off and continue reading, but then you used "r*tard" again, plus "l*me," in what I'm pretty sure is episode four. It makes me extremely uncomfortable to see these homophobic and ableist terms used so flippantly, and in ways that are obviously intended as insults. They're not at all necessary to the plot or context of the scenes they're used in, so why use them at all?
The repeated use of slurs is concerning and off-putting to the point where I don't want to continue supporting Fates Collide if it keeps using this type of language, which would be a shame because I can see how much hard work you've put into this game, from the writing to the renders and animations to the music and sound effects. I wanted to ask if you would consider editing the slurs out and refraining from using similar offensive words in the future?

So I have some good news and bad news for you. The good? news is that just by reworking the game, and some tweaks to the dialogue and script respectively, the fag comment Simon used was/is already removed prior to any comments here. I can I guess somewhat agree that one wasn't necessary, and with the beforementioned comment on slight script tweak, it was already gone months ago. I've quickly skimmed through both old script and the reworked ones (so far that's done at least) for retard, and it's used in only two cases in whole of 4 episodes. Both used by Avis, and both, imo, absolutely fine in context. One to Falazio, in a joking manner as they know each other, and one where she raged in an online game and totally lost her shit. I'm not going to put a filter on her, as in both cases I felt it was completely in character. The post above makes it seem like it's used constantly and in degrading manner, and while I can somewhat understand, especially in the age we are, I also try to make the characters feel alive and human, and sometimes human also means using words that someone might find inappropriate. Is "moron" also not okay now? Because nothing else would fit in the context she used. The last one however I'm truly shocked. Lame??? I've just spent time asking people, trying to find at least someone who could tell me what that could be, as I've nevereverheard that or used in any such instances. Lame is an absolutely normal word, that I'm using in (copies oxford dictionary) :
"(of something intended to be entertaining) uninspiring and dull" I'm absolutely going to continue using the word lame in future, I'm not going to shy away from using regular words just because someone somewhere uses it for slang or something else.
If anything, going on a wild chase now and googling for so long the origins of the word lame, was quite lame.

The "uninspiring and dull" definition only came into existence after people began using it to discriminate against disabled people. Language evolves over time and, as of the present day, words like l*me and r*tard are in fact ableist slurs.

The word was then contracted to fag and used as a reference to cigarettes. Later it became a derogatory term for a homosexual. The fact that someone wants to apply one interpretation to a word while ignoring or discounting the other meanings speaks more to the people doing the interpretation than the word itself. Maybe a different word like hypersensitive would apply.

It's an NSFW title which most people use as visual stimulation with, I'd say, a pretty good chunk of players also vibining with the story as it's well made. Words being appropriate or inappropriate in a given context really doesn't matter as it should be just simply ignored or IF it needs to be pointed out it can be done in a better way than it was this time. The silent majority of your game's players come here to well.....cum here and those enjoy the awesome visuals on their own without even bothering to go through the dialogue options further than "this will/will not give a scene in a few dialogues."
All in all, words are just words which, ESPECIALLY in a game akin to this, should be taken with a heaping spoon of salt if not ignored altogether.
Mate, in today's world you just have to decide if you're going to conform completely, only as much as you personally feel is necessary, or not at all. To worry any further about is only going give you a headache. One can never please everyone and attempting to do so is an act of futility.

Question, if I want to try and get full points on a character, does that mean that I have to get the characters as low as possible? I know that you would want to completely focus on that one character, but would you also need to avoid all other characters? Say I'm trying to go for Raiko, since she appears decently late compared to most of the other characters, would I need to distance myself from Koko, Avis, and Levi before I even meet Raiko?
No? I don't see why you'd go to such distances with how the game content was presented 😅 . You can try your best and get as many points as you can with other girls too. The most important part on staying on a girls route are the points you get through interactions, but also very rare (and truly obvious) moments where you can for example choose not to kiss someone/or ignore their advances. But those only appeared in the very latest episode.
I love what you have done with the game so far - so many interesting twists and turn - cant wait for the next update.
I wanted to ask - is possible to get a perfect score for any of the girls in the current version of the game (FatesCollide-0.4)
For example on the final screen were you recap your current scores for each girl - the highest i have been able to get for AVIS was 45/61 and 37/51 for KOKO.
Thanks for making such a great AVN - your story highlights that you can create highly engaging content, without having to have sex scenes every 3-5 minutes. It makes it more rewarding if you can build you relationship with one of the girls to get to that point.

Well, Avis and Koko might have their points wrong, I remember making a mistake somewhere in counting for them so if you ever got -1 of total, you prob maxed them out. The rest should be correct.

For me it is ALOT less about the sex then it is the story. Forget screwing every girl and going home smiling to yourself about your harem. THAT DOESNT HAPPEN.
I want actions and consequences. Forget a harem, if you get with a girl and then fuck someone else, there needs to be consequences. Guilt , anger, jealousy. Heck even panic when the side chick says "we need to talk"
I want the game to make me feel something. Even if it is nothing more than guilt over choosing one girl over another.
This game makes me feel. Maybe not as DEEP as i would like yet... but i still feel.

Hi! I have a whole lot of free time on my hands, and I was thinking of trying to create a walkthrough for the current episodes (1-3). Would you want/not want me to do this? Are there things in development that would alter the game and make it so the walkthrough would be inaccurate when they are released? If everything will work fine and you're ok with this, is there any specific way that the game calculates the relationship points for each character other then "a correct dialogue/action selection adds X amount of points"?
Hey there! There is quite a few things regarding this so lets address each part. First of all, definitely no point in you making it now, as episodes will be quite changed in the rework, same as I told to anyone thinking about translating it now.
Secondly, I used to have walkthroughs (both a pdf doc and an ingame mod) but I dropped them both for multiple reasons. I prefer players playing it by themselves without any help to properly try stuff out and see what influences what, as it always brings me joy when someone goes "wait, you had X say that here? For me she never appeared!". Now this is also kind of hypocritical as I play some games with WTs myself, but my view still stands. The bigger "issue" however is related to how much WT mod/pdf says or knows. With this I mean that some choices could have much later impact. With this I mean that although rare, there can be circumstances where when I write dialogue I go "huh, would be fun if you saying this much earlier would make her react a tiny bit different now", say MC remembering a girl talk about something before and chiming in, and her appreciating that. So I might have a value the game tracks, but we don't know (including me!) that later that could lead to lets say +1 relationship point with X girl. And that's why I stopped myself, felt weird for me to make my own dev approved WT, yet later on, someone following my own guide could end up missing a point or two, purely bcs I get some idea in future how to use a previous choice for extra dialogue etc.
Overall, those are reasons why I'm not that keen on them at the moment. Didn't want to write a simple yes/no so hopefully this explains a lot. And yes, it's mostly that (correct answer +/- points) in addition to those very few and rare future points (sometimes if MC does the same choice, you might get/not get points depending how many you have in total with that character).
The game looks really good at the moment and as i am typing this, i am only halfway through the download and i really hope this game is as good as people say it is
Hey! I also wanted to mention this game is one of my favorites (If not number one to be honest) and can't wait to see what happens next! I really enjoyed all the interactions with all the girls. I could really get the feel for each girls personality and what they are all about. I also really like it's a non-harem, and slower based game. My personal favorite girls are Raiko, Avis, Serena, and Valentina. I could see myself being friends with each them in real life. They actually reflect my own personality in some way as well! But! Because it's non-harem game, Raiko is the girl I'd pursue, and stay loyal to. (If Raiko wasn't in the game, Avis would take that spot. The girl gets it.) A couple fun facts why Raiko is my number one: Raiko's parents actually remined me of my first love's parents, and while dating my first love, it was a pretty innocent and respectful relationship. So i wouldn't be surprised it will take some time for the relationship to bloom with Raiko. Anyways! Great game!
Hello author, I shared this game with my 90-year-old grandfather a few months ago, and he said that he liked the game so much that he jerked off 50 times in one night. But there are a few CGs that he can't play, let me ask you if you can make a strategy for a few characters in this CG, he can't play it.
Ah yeah no, just progress report, no game update. But itchio can make it confusing as any report/feed post is either "general update/announcement" or "major release/launch". No in between, so I guess that's where the confusion came from ^^
Absolutely brilliant game, art/quality, storylines and characters! Honestly up there with Eternum which says alot I think. Hope there will be more chapters soon, felt almost sad when it suddenly stopped lol.
Is there any chance that there will be more Harem genre? After experiencing it, I felt like I didn't want to miss any of the girls. I hope in the future I will be able to meet them all at the same time in the ending. Please consider 👍

In current ep1-4 you dont have any such point of choosing yet ^^ And in future updates, while not yet 100% so don't quote me on it, idea is to "lose" one by one girl by choices/denying them/relationship points throughout regular play. Maybe if you manage to have multiple even through all that I could make a screen where you choose. But yea, first option I mentioned is my way I'm aiming for.
You (atm at least) don't instantly lose routes. There are two choices (which are very clear in ep4) where game counts towards losing certain routes, but even those choices aren't instant route enders ^^. More like "do something like that again and it will probably end their route next time".
Ehhhhhhhhhhh I meaaaaan kiiiiinda? 😅 The "death flags" are easy to spot. As in "girl tries to kiss you and you say no" styles of flags. The other part, having enough relationship points is another topic, but so far I've been very generous with them and there isn't stuff that's locked behind "need 100% of all points" or anything similar. As long as you start focusing that girl more and more in later updates, you're fine.

And that's why I stopped myself, felt weird for me to make my own dev approved WT, yet later on, someone following my own guide could end up missing a point or two, purely bcs I get some idea in future how to use a previous choice for extra dialogue etc.
Overall, those are reasons why I'm not that keen on them at the moment. Didn't want to write a simple yes/no so hopefully this explains a lot. And yes, it's mostly that (correct answer +/- points) in addition to those very few and rare future points (sometimes if MC does the same choice, you might get/not get points depending how many you have in total with that character).

Hey! I also wanted to mention this game is one of my favorites (If not number one to be honest) and can't wait to see what happens next! I really enjoyed all the interactions with all the girls. I could really get the feel for each girls personality and what they are all about. I also really like it's a non-harem, and slower based game. My personal favorite girls are Raiko, Avis, Serena, and Valentina. I could see myself being friends with each them in real life. They actually reflect my own personality in some way as well! But! Because it's non-harem game, Raiko is the girl I'd pursue, and stay loyal to. (If Raiko wasn't in the game, Avis would take that spot. The girl gets it.) A couple fun facts why Raiko is my number one: Raiko's parents actually remined me of my first love's parents, and while dating my first love, it was a pretty innocent and respectful relationship. So i wouldn't be surprised it will take some time for the relationship to bloom with Raiko. Anyways! Great game!

Ah yeah no, just progress report, no game update. But itchio can make it confusing as any report/feed post is either "general update/announcement" or "major release/launch". No in between, so I guess that's where the confusion came from ^^
Absolutely brilliant game, art/quality, storylines and characters! Honestly up there with Eternum which says alot I think. Hope there will be more chapters soon, felt almost sad when it suddenly stopped lol.

Haven't finished the current content yet, but I was wondering, will it be obvious when we have to pick which girl to get with in the end?
In current ep1-4 you dont have any such point of choosing yet ^^
And in future updates, while not yet 100% so don't quote me on it, idea is to "lose" one by one girl by choices/denying them/relationship points throughout regular play. Maybe if you manage to have multiple even through all that I could make a screen where you choose. But yea, first option I mentioned is my way I'm aiming for.
Losing one by one is a good Idea. It's less complicated and will probably be more fun.
You (atm at least) don't instantly lose routes. There are two choices (which are very clear in ep4) where game counts towards losing certain routes, but even those choices aren't instant route enders ^^. More like "do something like that again and it will probably end their route next time".
Alright, so it will be obvious enough that if you want to pick a certain LI it should be easy to control without accidentally losing their path too?

The "death flags" are easy to spot. As in "girl tries to kiss you and you say no" styles of flags. The other part, having enough relationship points is another topic, but so far I've been very generous with them and there isn't stuff that's locked behind "need 100% of all points" or anything similar. As long as you start focusing that girl more and more in later updates, you're fine.
